Love Bookkeeping was born after Katie moved from the UK to Australia and developed a love of bookkeeping while working on the financial side of her husband's building company.  Seeking a career that would be flexible around a young family, bookkeeping seemed like an obvious choice.  With a chartered accountant for a father, who made her note down all the ins and outs of her bank account and reconcile these lines back to the bank statement each month from the age of 14, bank reconciliations were already something very familiar.

Having studied Archaeology at University College London, investigations were also something deeply ingrained.  So, large tidy-up jobs are a sought after challenge and something that Katie truly enjoys.

In her spare time - not there is much of it as a busy mum of 3 - Katie likes to get out and about in nature.  With a special passion for multi-day hikes, she has in recent years taken on the six-day Jatbula Trail (hiking from Katherine Gorge to Edith Falls in the Northern Territory) and the five-day Kangeroo Island Wilderness Trail.  The next planned adventure is the five-day Cooloola Great Walk, hiking from Noosa North Shore to Rainbow Beach.  And of course, all these longer hikes require many day and overnight training hikes (or so she tells her family)!

Luckily, Katie is also keen on keeping fit with strength and endurance training - something that definitely helps with the hiking.

After a busy day, which includes a lot of kid-wrangling, Katie likes to relax with some binge-watching on Netflix!
